How Novasonic Works

Novasonic (or Audible sound waves, NSTs) were first discovered to have healing properties in the 1920's by the pioneering German scientist Professor Erwin Schilephake.

NSTs were originally developed and manufactured in Stuttgart, West Germany more than a quarter of a century ago.

A Novasonic Transducer is a compact and high-precision electrical device which transmits sound waves to the treatment area through a 'sound-head,' applied without pressure to the skin surface. The sound waves can penetrate up to 2 1/4" within the body, treating areas inaccessible to conventional manipulative techniques.

The intensity of the waves and associated vibration can be adjusted easily, just like the volume on a radio.

The Principles of Novasonic Pain Relief

Infrasonic, Intrasonic, Novasonic, and Ultrasonic Frequencies

NSTs create sound waves through the oscillation of a diaphragm whose 'frequency' is measured in Hertz - one oscillation per second equaling one Hertz. The range of frequencies between 16Hz - and 20,000Hz is received by the human ear and interpreted as sound by the brain.

All NST emissions are within a carefully selected segment of this audible range Novasonic. The frequencies below this range are infra-sonic, those above, ultra-sonic (Novasonic is not ultrasound).

Sound Transmission

All media - solid, liquid or gaseous - transmit sound waves, although with varying degrees of efficiency. Molecules forming human tissue, when struck by sound waves, transmit the impact to the next in line, absorbing a minute amount of the wave energy in the process. When all the energy has been absorbed, the sound waves will cease to travel further.

Physiological Effects

The direct consequence of each molecular impact is to create altering compression and dilation zones - in effect, a form of massage, but a cellular level, deep within the treated tissue. This stimulation results in an immediate and demonstrable tightening of the cell-wall membranes, leading to increased blood circulation and improved metabolism.

It is by this intensive stimulation of the natural functions of the cellular, circulatory and nervous systems of the human body that the beneficial effects of the therapy are achieved, Novasonic simply 'gives nature a helping hand'.

Since lymph and spinal fluids, cartilage and muscle tissue and especially bone all conduct Novasonic pulses, the relief consequences are significant, particularly in relation to joints. Joints are encapsulated in sheaths of tough protective tissue and are almost inaccessible to orthodox manipulative treatments.

Novasonic passes through this barrier unhindered, allowing deep-seated problem areas as well as superficial ones to benefit.
