How to Use Your NST

  1. Novasonic is not a 'miracle cure'. Do not expect instant results.

  2. Do not wait until you feel pain before using your NST. Develop a general toning up routine. Experience shows that the best results are achieved by regular application. For many conditions this means three sessions a day of five to ten minutes, up to a maximum at any one session of twenty minutes.

  3. Use only GENTLE surface contact with the treatment area. Apply just enough pressure to reduce the sound by having it absorbed into the body.

  4. Use circular or up-and-down movements. The treatment will be more effective if the sound head is kept in motion.

  5. Start your treatment with short periods of application at minimum intensity, then gradually build up. The application can be repeated as often as desired. Never set your NST to a higher intensity than feels comfortable.

  6. When used on the neck, head or face, the NST should be set to the minimum intensity. Care is also advised when applying to the vicinity of glandular regions such as armpits, breasts, throat, base of skull and groin. The NST may still be used in those areas, but extra care is required as they are particularly sensitive.

  7. When chronic complaints are treated, it may be assumed that these may revert to acute states, so that the body's natural restorative powers can be activated. The result is an initial worsening of the condition. Experts agree, however, that once the regenerative powers of the body are awakened continuation of application should lead to success. If in doubt consult your doctor.

  8. Never apply ordinary creams and lotions to your skin as they contain agents which if used with NST can damage the rubber diaphragm behind the sound head. Use only water based gels.

  9. In the initial application, avoid direct contact of sensitive areas such as bruises, sprains and inflammations. Circle instead the surrounding areas and / or through thin clothing such as blouses, shirts or handkerchiefs. Move towards more sensitive areas as you feel comfortable. The sound-head is not sterile so do not bring into contact with open wounds.

  10. The intensity is controlled by turning the adjustment knob. Turning the knob clockwise means a weak setting; the intensity decreases. Conversely, turning the knob counter-clockwise means a strong setting; the intensity increases. With this control you can vary the output individually to suit your sensitivity. As a general guide, select the intensity so that you have a feeling of well-being, because then your muscles will also feel well.

  11. Your NST should not be used in the chest area by wearers of cardiac pacemakers or in the area where a mental or plastic plate may have been fitted to a joint or limb. Treatment in the area of the abdomen and back areas during pregnancy is not recommended.

  12. Do NOT use the NST to treat pain of unknown origin, particularly in the lower leg. Pains of a number of types may be the symptoms of an ailment which requires medical treatment and advice. Should you have any doubts about the source of your pain, consult your doctor immediately.

How to Use the Novasonic Percussor Function:

The percussion facility was developed to relax tense and knotted muscles and is effective for treating conditions such as cramps, muscle spasms and sports injuries/strained muscles.

The percussor is provided by a two way switch. Position one for the Novasonic therapy and position two for the percussion effect.

Follow the same principles as described above, taking care when applying to particularly sensitive areas where increased intensity of the percussor may cause discomfort.

Not recommended to be used when treating in the vicinity of the face or glandular regions, such as armpits, breasts, throat, base of skull, or groin.

As stated previously, by experiment you will find the best method and application time to suit your own comfort.
